This is a site for the research of the GROSSART family in Tscherwenka / Cservenka, Bács-Bodrog Komitat, Hungary now called Crvenka, Yugoslavia.  It is in an area know as the Batschka.

The GROSSART surname has been spelled as GROSSARTH or GROßART, also as GROZARTH on Hungarian records.   ART is also seen as ARTH.

I am at a "Brick Wall" in the research for the ancestors of Adam and Barbara [ART] GROSSART.  They were Lutheran but the Lutheran church books from Tscherwenka are not available.

Adam and Barbara GROSSART with their youngest son, Adam, immigrated to Chicago in the spring of 1903 from Tscherwenka, Hungary.  Their oldest son, Phillip GROSSART, immigrated in Nov 1903 joining them in Chicago.  Their daughter Elizabeth also came to Chicago but the time is not known.
